I have a tip for you.

If you're in a situation where you want the last piece of something, say a pizza slice. But you feel the need to do the polite thing and ask, 'does anyone want the last slice?'. Of course you expect no one to say 'yes' because, obviously you want the last slice and everyone should see that. So you'd expect a round of obligatory 'no'

Wrong.

I am the type of person that will say 'yes'. Sometimes I might not even want it. Being polite is one thing, but you don't have to be stupid about it. Now if you had said something like "I'm having that last slice if that's ok with everyone else" you'd have a better chance. It's all in the phrasing.

So next time we share a pizza keep that in mind.
